The Practical Miter Saw Reviews
If you’re going to be cutting through objects such as crown molding, wood, fiberboard or aluminum then you probably need a Miter Saw. There are many options on the market today and it can seem a bit confusing when trying to select the right tool for your personal needs. Luckily, we have found a few tools that we think will work great for whatever it is you’re working on. Let us do the work for you.
Today we are going to talk about three of our personal favorite Miter Saws; the Hitachi C10FCe2, DEWALT’s DW713 and the 6955-20 by Milwaukee. The Milwaukee comes with a 12-inch sliding dual Bevel Miter Saw, while both the DEWALT and Hitachi come with a single 10 inch compound saw.
Let’s start off by discussing the least expensive saw out of the group; the Hitachi. This saw does not come with batteries included but does come with a 10 inch 24-tooth TCT saw blade a large pivoting fence, dust bag, vise assembly, box wrench and a hex bar wrench. It has a 15 amp motor (no load speed up to 5,000 RPMs; making crosscuts a breeze) and weighs 26.3 pounds. With this saw, you’re able to adjust your miter anywhere between zero and 52 degrees. The bezel ranges 45 degrees to the left side. The fence rises up to 4 inches, allowing you to cut objects up to 2-5/16 inches tall and 5-21/32 inches deep. The C10FCE2 comes with an extremely comfortable handle that reduces vibrations with the elastomer grip. The large table helps keep you on track while the built-in clamping system holds everything in place. This tool minimizes the accumulation of dust, keeping the whole area clean. (The Carbon Brushes are very helpful as well) If you purchase this miter saw, you are covered by a 5-year warranty. Next up is the DEWALT, which comes with a 15 amp motor that spins at 5,000 RPMs and a cam-lock miter handle that is extremely easy to adjust. This saw offers very precise cuts and its plate has 11 positive stops that help you easily set up and stay on task.
This saw has a very wide miter capacity (0-50 degrees) both to the left and to the right. The fence is very easy to move out of the way when a bevel cut is in progress. With the DEWALT, you can set up bevel cuts that are from 0-48 degrees to the left and 0-3 degrees to the right; you can also cut objects that are up to 2 by 6 inches. This particular model is backed by a three-year limited warranty, one-year free service and a 90 day money-back guarantee and weighs 35 pounds. It has a handle, so moving this baby around shouldn’t be much of a problem. Lastly, we have the 6955-20, which comes with a miter angle fine adjust and detent override; which makes setting up for miter angles extremely easy and precise. Even when in awkward positions, you will be able to easily set up and begin cutting. This saw comes with dual integral lights that completely light up the area you’re working in on both sides of the blade. There is also a soft start button that allows you to slowly make your way through a cut to avoid possible damage or mistakes on your cuts. Milwaukee’s 6955-20 has a 15 amp motor with 3,250 RPMs and helps you keep your workplace clean by catching over 75% of particles and dust and sending them away from the blade, so you can spend less time cleaning up and more time working on your project.
